Youth Triathlon:
This is a fun event for kids age 6-15 years old, with distances varying by age.
All finisher will receive finisher award medals, swim cap and pancake breakfast. Shirts available for purchase if registering before 7/17.

Please note: This race is sanctioned by USA Triathlon. If you are not an annual member of USAT, you will be required to pay an additional $10 fee for a license and insurance purposes.

Distances:
6 – 8 year olds: 50 yard swim, 1.5 mile bike, 1/2 mile run
9 – 10 year olds: 50 yard swim, 1.5 mile bike, 1 mile run
11 – 12 year olds: 100 yard swim, 3 mile bike, 1 mile run
13 – 15 year olds: 100 yard swim, 3 mile bike, 1 mile run
Floatation devices are allowed. Parents are encouraged to participate with their youth to cheer them on along the way.
Course:
- Swim: The swim starts from the sandy beach of Lake Tye. There will be separate waves starting 3 minutes apart. Number of waves is determined by the final number of registrants. The swimmers will make a counter-clockwise loop around 2 buoys. All kids will be in deep water swimming parallel to the beach. Adults may accompany the kids in the water. Use of any type of floatation device is allowed.
- Bike: The bike course is an out and back course on a Fryelands Blvd. which is closed to traffic. The bikes will head South for .78 miles and return on the same road. The older kids longer distance 3 mile bike course is 2 loops of this course.
- Run: The runners are contained within the park (older kids head out on a portion of the paved trail). running on trails throughout the park.
*transition staging area – The youth transition staging area in the parking lot just south of the skate park. Please “park” all of your gear in this area.
Packet pick up:
Lake Tye Park Gazebo – A few days prior to the event, you will receive a confirmation registration email. Pre-packet pick up is at Lake Tye Park on Friday PM. You are strongly encouraged to pick up on Friday night August 2nd, from 4:00 – 6:30 PM. Packet pick-up, also available day of race, at the gazebo.

Parking:
Parking access will be limited due to earlier events. Please plan to arrive at least 1.5 hr prior to start of race. Parking will not be allowed in Frylands soccer field parking lot as the roads will be closed. The road will be shut down and no one will be able to cross Fryelands Boulevard once the road has been shut down. You need to either come before the road closure or you will need to park on the East side of Fryelands Boulevard.
Transition Area: The YOUTH TRIATHLON Transition Area is open to families to help with their kids. Please, try to keep spectators or family members inside the transition area to a minimum.
